We’re seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fire Alarm Inspector to join our team. This critical role involves inspecting, testing, and maintaining fire alarm and sprinkler systems to ensure compliance with NFPA standards and provide peace of mind for our clients.

Job Overview

As a Fire Alarm Inspector, you’ll help keep fire protection systems in great working order and up to standard. You’ll perform inspections, identify any updates or repairs needed, and collaborate with the team to ensure everything is taken care of.

This role is a great fit for someone who values safety, has experience with fire alarm systems, and enjoys a mix of independent work and team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Inspection and Testing

  • Perform routine inspections for fire alarm and sprinkler systems, fire pumps, and other devices per NFPA 25 standards.
  • Identify deficiencies during inspections and document findings clearly and accurately.
  • Utilize inspection software to submit detailed inspection reports in a timely manner.

Coordination and Communication

  • Coordinate with service teams to address and correct inspection deficiencies.
  • Communicate effectively with facility managers, customers, and AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction) to provide updates and address questions or concerns.
  • Work closely with the service manager to assist with scheduling and ensure timely completion of inspections.

Technical Expertise and Compliance

  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of NFPA codes and fire life safety systems, including alarm panels, PIVs, FDCs, backflows, fire pumps, and other critical components.
  • Ensure all inspections meet regulatory compliance and company quality standards.
  • Stay updated on industry standards and best practices.

Who You Are

We’re looking for a detail-oriented professional with expertise in fire protection systems and a commitment to customer satisfaction.

  • Experienced: Proficient in NFPA 25 standards with hands-on experience inspecting fire alarm and sprinkler systems.
  • Credentialed: NICET Level II or III certification preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Working knowledge of alarm panels, devices, and fire protection system components.
  • Organized: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Customer-Focused: Outstanding customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Self-Motivated: Capable of performing duties independently with minimal supervision.

Position Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent with proficiency in reading and writing English.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Willingness to pass pre-employment drug screening, background check, and reference check.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Your First 90 Days with Us

First 30 Days

  • Participate in onboarding and training to learn company systems, tools, and inspection protocols.
  • Shadow experienced inspectors to understand workflows and client expectations.
  • Begin performing routine inspections under supervision.

Next 30 Days (60 Days Total)

  • Take ownership of assigned inspections and submit detailed reports independently.
  • Build relationships with clients and team members to foster collaboration and trust.
  • Start contributing to the coordination of deficiency corrections with service teams.

By 90 Days

  • Independently manage your inspection schedule with confidence.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows and suggest process enhancements.
  • Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to operational strategies.
